Restaurant Design Studio 

Restaurant Design Studios is a complete interior design center. We offer commercial interior design services for the tri-state area. Our interior design firm is located in City of Commerce California. We also offer commercial interior design services for locations in Southern California and outside of California.

If you're going to build or renovate a restaurant, retail store, lounge, nightclub or cafe your general contractor will need a set of scaled construction documents, often called working drawings. If there are structural issues these drawing's will need an architect's approval. These documents can be drafted on a CAD system or hand renderings (now considered obsolete) and consist of space plans, elevations, concepts, schedules and details. We use state of the art duel processing computer systems for these processor intensive applications. These drawings are generally prepared by several design consultants and field engineers, integrated into one set for submittal to your local building and health department for review. We use video tapes, digital cameras, site visits, Ipix tours, email, CAD files, extensive conference calls and architectural drawings to communicate with our client and cut back on travel expenses when possible. Assisting general contractors and alternate tradesmen throughout the entire design/build process.

Concept Development

Execution of Concept

Execution of project begins after the client in presented with the concept. The execution proceeds in Phases. Phase 1 being Concept Development

Phase 2

• Finalize all schemes and decorative treatment 
• Prepare design drawings needed for custom furniture and any interior architectural details.
• Submit final drawings to various contractors necessary to interpret our design concept.
• Finalize and prepare specification of all approved selection.
• Prepare budget costs.
• Design Firm to consult with architect or other professionals in connection with project if necessary. 

Phase 3.

• During Progress of work Review all working drawings, specifications, and finished schedules submitted by contractor to ensure adherence to our design. 
• Approve all materials, finishes, and color samples submitted by contractors. Supervise all decorative work in field. Inspect all installations at job site.

Space Plan Optimization

We offer a flat fee for space optimization. We can help you determine the appropriate square footage necessary to run your business. We can help you evaluate spaces you are considering leasing or purchasing for your business. A floor plan determines what size space you should be looking for before you begin your search for the right property.

Color Scheme Development

Color has a great impact on our emotions and our working habits. Colors are extremely important in a hospitality, office or retail setting. Determining the best color scheme for you business is not an easy task.

Variables: 

• Size of space 
• Complexity of color scheme in relation to layout. 
• Are you only looking for paint color selections? 
• Do you need and entire color scheme including flooring,
  works surfaces, etc.

Budget Development

It is extremely important that you determine a budget before beginning an interior renovation. Restaurant  Design Studios, Inc. can help you determine an accurate budget for your renovation. The dollar amount you budget for the interior design of your space is contingent upon your location,clientele, finish types,quality of materials used and the design details unique to your environment.

These questions may vary depending upon your business. A restaurant renovation will vary from a hotel or retail renovation but will be very similar to a nightclub or lounge renovation. This list should get you started in the right direction. However we do recommend you consult with a professional. Designers can help you save money by taking advantage of their planning, design and construction experience.
Design is a business just like running a restaurant, nightclub or other hospitality venue. Entering into a renovation project without adequate knowledge can be very costly. 

Interior Design Trends

We at Restaurant Design Studio are not big believers in design trends. We feel it is all relative to your concept, clientele and location. Every space has a unique set of criteria which acts as the foundation of the entire design. However we do agree that finishes and materials fall in and out of favor. The favorability relies upon the durability, cost and the manufacturer’s improvements of a particular product. In our design practice we like to combine different finishes and materials to add creativity and interest to a space.

Materials we find favorable are:

• Metals:  satin finish aluminum, raw steel, stainless steel, copper and other unique metal finishes
• Woods:  natural maple, zebra wood, black walnut, brazilian cherry
• Naturals fibers:  sea grass, sisal, jute
• Glass:  sandblasted, safety, textured, stained, etched, colored
• Fabrics:  plush velvet, natural silks, cotton, other natural fibers, sheers
• Colors:   browns, neutral tones, greens, bold colors
• Lighting: gels, LED, fiber optic, sconces, backlit lighting effects
• Misc.:   faux finishes, cork, leather floor tiles, granite and all types of stone

As you can see we like a lot of materials. Again, everything is relative to its use and the concept. Our best advice is to be open to all ideas and don't be a slave to trends. Don't try to forecast what will look trendy in six months. Develop a concept that works for your clientele, image and location.

Side Note:

When designing a residence the clientele is your family and friends and how they use the space. The image is your personality and personal style.
